Acorn Black Investments was established in 2014 by Brent Oakes and allied group shareholders as a demonstration of their commitment to transformation within the South African Economy. It is an Empowerment organization which facilitates businesses compliance with the provisions of the Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment Codes of Good Practice. Its primary function is to assist companies to address the representivity of their shareholding by providing Black people as defined by the Codes with an opportunity to actively engage in the economy through the acquisition of Equity.
Acorn Black Investments wants to assist the companies in which it invests ensuring the partnership sees direct benefit for both parties leveraging off the Empowerment credentials to guarantee sustainable growth. Our ethos is to provide market related value for existing shareholders meanwhile creating a culture of realistic expectations on the assets acquired. The majority shareholder of Acorn Black Investments is a broad-based ownership/employee empowerment trust which was formed in compliance with the provisions of the Codes and aligned to the intentions of the Black Economic Empowerment Act of 2003.
